Thursday 1. Work on your blog about Essays High School Students should read - it is due next Thursday,  June 8 2. Complete the work below on the short story Memento Mori: As you listen/read the short story, collect 3 quotes: one each related to time, memory, and identity. Please don't write on the story - use Post-its to flag quotes. Create a new page in Office 365 - call it Memento Mori, in your assignment folder, type your 3 quotes. Make sure you label the quotes as "time" or "memory". Short story 3, 2, 1. Find an image that you think represents the story really well. Paste it onto the Office 365 page you created for the quotes. Next, you must sum up the story in 3 sentences - no analysis, just state what happened. For the 2, you must write 2 analytical/interpretive "thinking" type of comments about the story, or the main character. Thursday 1. We are in the computer lab today. You have the entire class to work on your Term 4 essay/blogging assignment.  - make sure you have a link to your blog in Office 365 in your personal assignment folder. Just create a page called "blog" and paste the URL. - make sure you review the assignment in Office365/content library/term4/term4 reading assignment because I have noticed most students defaulting to writing paragraph responses to the essays you are reading. You are able to be more creative for this assignment if you wish. Just make sure you do address the different types of reactions points listed in the assignment. Thursday Today is Brown Bag It Day! Woot! Woot! 1. Write an essay about SHLFM and The Bastard - Synthesis essay. YOU HAVE ONE CLASS TO COMPLETE YOUR ESSAY. Put your finished essay into Office 365/onenote/collaboration space - identify yourself and the page using your student number. Put a copy into your own personal assignment folder also. 2, TOPICS:  You can use Men and Masculinity, Women and Femininity, Violence/Torment, Marriage/Relationships, or Courage/Cowardice as topics. In this case you would have to create a thesis statement. Alternatively, you could discuss the idea of "all or nothing" in both stories; or discuss the idea that both protagonists could be said to "refuse to fall prey to the terror of living". In this case, your thesis would be something along the lines of The Bastard and Francis Macomber are two characters who refuse to fall prey to the terror of living.
