- The blue essay outline you created for the question related to "The Soul of Capitalism" and "When Canada Meet Andy" is due today. Your teacher today will ask to see it at the beginning of the class. If it was done for homework as requested, they will initial it. Before you hand it in, complete the back as outlined below in #3.
- Once you show your completed outline from Friday to the teacher, they will give you a sample essay. Read it. Break the sample essay apart and write down what is in each section on the back of the blue sheet where you wrote out your own outline. Hand your the blue sheet once both sides are finished.
- On the sample “6” essay that you just finished using, work with a partner and, on one of the essays, write down at least 3 things that the writer has done well. Construct your phrases using an action that a writer does and a quality word. For example “includes (action) sufficient (quality word) quotes” “provides (action) more than enough (quality word) detail.”
- Go to the following link: https://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/exemplars/en_synthesis/en12-synthesis-samples.pdf . Read the other papers that scored a “5” or “6” and write down at least 6 other phrases that state what the writers have done well. Write these on the essay paper used in #5 above. Put your names on it. Hand it in.
